May 27 Update - How to Get Assistance

Transcript: Hello, my name is Rachel Lebus and I am the new Executive Director at Oxford Area Neighborhood Services Center.

In case you are not familiar, we help our neighbors through times of sudden crisis or hardship by providing both food and financial assistance with rent or utilities. Our case managers are here to help guide you through whatever crisis you are dealing with, and to help you through. In this time of increased need due to the COVID pandemic, we are still open to meet the needs that emerge as a result of this or any other crisis our neighbors are facing.

Not only are we still open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 4:30, and Friday from 8:30 to 12:00, but we are excited to announce that we are partnering with the Lighthouse Youth Center in their weekly food distribution on Thursdays beginning at 11:00 a.m. During the food distribution at the Lighthouse, Neighborhood Services staff will be present to meet people where they are and to be an initial point of contact for needs for any additional food, or for monetary assistance for rent or utilities.

We recognize that this is a difficult time for many of us, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to receive help if you need it. We know the Lighthouse has been stepping in to distribute food from their center and have been seeing many people, and we have made ourselves available during that time for anyone who has a need. We are here for you, for the duration of this pandemic, and as we all come to realize what a new normal will look like, we will still be here for you.

Thank you for all of those in the community who have chosen to give to Neighborhood Services during this time.  Your gifts have not gone unnoticed, and are going far to meet the needs of our neighbors. If you are able to give, we would love to help you leverage your resources to make an impact for those in need in our community.

Oxford is a supportive community, and we will continue to support each other through this crisis. Thank you.
